Gifts to UIS Theatre contribute to...
UIS Theatre fosters the idea that theatre is a vital artistic event, which brings people together to respond to one another’s experiences/stories and to the world in which we live. We expose students to the work of the world’s great theatre artists. In addition to offering both a major and minor in Theatre, UIS Theatre engages students from all disciplines in various classes, as well as involvement in our productions. As part of our curriculum, Theatre creates/produces exciting, engaging, and inclusive theatre productions that reach our campus and Springfield communities.
Your gifts will help us procure materials to transform our studio rehearsal space (VAP 170) into an alternate performance space, so we can continue to create engaging theatre productions. In addition, funds will help send our UIS Theatre students to the annual Region 3 KCACTF (Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival) Conference in January 2026 in Madison, WI.
Examples of how your gifts can make an impact:
$500 – help procure a portion of Black Velour Drapes/Curtains for darkening the studio performance space
$250 – help purchase up to 3 LED PAR Can Lighting Instruments for the studio rehearsal/performance space
$100 – cover a portion of 1 hotel room for 1 night for students to attend the KCACTF Region 3 Conference
$50 – help purchase cables for lighting instruments
