Military and Veteran Student Services

UIS cares about its military connected students and we know that on occasion difficult situations arise. The UIS Military/Veterans Emergency Grant was created to help prevent emergencies and unforeseen events from inhibiting a Military Connected Student’s academic progress.

The UIS Military/Veterans Emergency Grant fund was established in 2019 with a generous gift from a UIS Faculty Member, but we need help to keep it going. It has already helped many students overcome unforeseen hardships.

The Emergency Fund supports student veterans, active duty personnel, reservists, or National Guard members who are enrolled and in good standing at UIS. Recipients of grant funding have encountered a financial hardship resulting from an emergency or unforeseen event and have already utilized all other eligible aid programs.
